The Perfect Backyard Party

Our trestle tables and benches have been used to celebrate both new love and old love. Dawnalee from Joonie and Joe put together this amazing 50th anniversary party for her parents in her own backyard.  It’s very inspiring to see a couple celebrate 50 years of marriage. Being married myself, I know that doesn’t always come easy - but I can also see how deep a love a couple can have for each other after weathering many years together.

I’ve learned that many common spaces can be transformed into noteworthy venues. I remember thinking when we dropped these tables and benches off that this would be a fantastic venue.  It was a hot and sunny day, the grass was soft and green and the shade of this big oak tree provided enough shade to keep the guests cool. After Dawnalee worked her magic, the simple backyard was transformed into a magazine worthy celebration. She used light and airy draping to define the space and layered it with balloons that said “we still do”. She added more layers of elegance with the couch and dresser. The soft touches of blue and gold created a romantic setting perfect for celebrating a special anniversary.

A light blue muslin fabric stretched along the centre of each table as a table runner. The same blue fabric was used as a napkin on top of each plate for the guests. On top of that napkin was an incredibly decorated sugar cookie made by Sprinkle and Whisk. Dawnalee rented the goblets, flatware and tableware from All Occasions Rentals.
